Guestbook
Many of our guests come back year after
year. Here are some of their comments:
Staying at Conventillo de Lujo has been wonderful each time. This
is my third trip to Buenos Aires. I like the genuinely warm welcome
and family atmosphere at Conventillo de Lujo. The help and advice
that Amy, Ray and Susana have given me has made a real difference
both to my knowledge and enjoyment of things in the area, also of
course to improving my tango. The classes held at Conventillo de
Lujo have a mix of locals as well as visitors and I´’ve enjoyed
meeting people here who have become friends. I have recommended
Conventillo to my family and friends and would highly recommend it
to anyone visiting Buenos Aires.

I have stayed several places in
Buenos Aires, but I keep coming back to the Conventillo...three
times now. I feel as if I am coming home.
My tango companion, Chrissy, and I don't look for a taxi when we
arrive. We look for our friend, Julio. Not a driver, but Julio. It's
like having your friend pick you up at the airport and take you
home. When we arrive, Amy is worried that we have not eaten well on
the plane and has food for us. Thus begins two weeks of seeing old
friends in our new hometown.
It's amazing how we can run into people we know while wandering
around a small town of 14 gazillion people. Whether dancing at
milongas, visiting family, watching fast horses run, out shopping
for anything and everything or just taking inventory of the cats in
the beautiful city parks, we frequently run into folks we know from
the U.S. or from Bs. As. If we don't know them, we soon do, as it's
easy to make friends here. Of course, we love our balcony for our
quiet time, on our quiet little corner in the bustling city.
The Conventillo has much excitement to offer, but at the same time is
a relaxing spot. But we try to save our relaxing for north of the
equator. There's too much to do in the deep south.
